Navigating graduate school and research can be difficult, so here are some resources I've come across during my journey as a scientist that I've found helpful, both for analyses and work/life balance.
All websites are current as of November 2024
The Baye's Baes Blog is a great resource for some beginner analyses information, with more links under their Resources tab in addition to their own Tutorials.
ResearchRabbit and Connected Papers are both great resources outside of Google Scholar. Simply paste in a paper title and you'll receive a whole web of related research that has been published.
Writing can be hard! Especially if your graduate program goes on longer than you anticipated (or even if it doesn't, writing can be hard no matter what stage you're in). I found the free, 2 day workshop that Write The Damn Dissertation puts on to be incredibly helpful in learning techniques to guide my writing and keep me focused, including a Pomodoro timer.
I'm working on a side project using molecular data to create a phylogenetic tree to determine divergence time of deep-sea elasmobranchs. To do this I used the programs BEAUTi and BEAST, and found this site incredibly helpful in navigating this software.
